When unfolded, it forms the flower's covering â symbolically the chalice â which has grown slowly upward from the bottom of the mud to finally reach its destiny, pure at its innermost core indeed, already within the muddy ground, but before it reached the flower's unfolded state, before the chalice was filled with the fullest streams of heart's blood, the inner side was indeed bright with light from within and from above, but the outer side of the plant was indeed blackened by the matter of mud that had forced its way through the fibers of the stem and roots. The snails are an image of evolution. The black color signifies evil powers ⊠the snails, one blue, the other yellow, signify that the WUS-forming nature spirit has at its disposal the love between the two that represent positive and negative, in order one day to help them upward. The snails at the center of the cross signify the difficulty of pressing the cross downward.
